“I informed the president that by Independence Day in July, I will have completed my three years as a Special Representative which is much more than usual for SRSG in a Peace Keeping Mission of this nature and in particular also with the crisis we have gone through. So I informed the president that I have come to the end of my term and I will be departing South Sudan. It has been a real honor to serve and I will be still here for a few weeks but South Sudan has a strong place in my heart and will continue to have that.”
