WFP
In Syria, in the course of the three year long conflict, some 6.5 million people have been displaced within the country and another 2.8 million have fled to neighboring Lebanon, Turkey, Jordan, and Iraq.
In the Baba Amr area of Homs, some families who have initially fled their homes, have found life so difficult in other parts of Syria that they have chosen to return to their destroyed neighborhood, despite the still ongoing violence in the outskirts of the city.
500,000 people have fled fighting in Mosul, Iraq, last week. Some 480 000 people were already displaced in Iraq due to fighting in al-Anbar in recent months (according to OCHA).
Over 1 million people have fled their home within South Sudan and another 380,000 fled to neighbouring countries. Most of them to Ethiopia (145,000).
More than 220,000 people have fled fighting in C.A.R. to neighbouring countries. More than 100,000 are currently in Cameroon coping with the rainy season.
After walking and hiding in bush for up to several months, one third of the children arriving in camps are malnourished, according to WFP.
