“Since my last briefing in June, the security situation in eastern Ukraine –under direct Russian coordination and connivance- continues to deteriorate. Despite recent significant success of Ukrainian armed forces, the liberated major cities, regional headquarters terrorists, such as town of Slovansk and Kramatorsk, terrorist gangs changed their tactics. They became crueller, more cynical and more destructive. Since they were forced to move deeper in Lugansk and Donetz, encircled by Ukrainian army pro Russian terrorists after themselves devastated, ruined towns and villages with completely destroyed infrastructure, robbed banks and ATMs, looted stores and supermarkets.”

“Despite all Russian Government’s statements that his country has no relation with terrorists acting in the east, a huge number of evidence is proved that Moscow keeps financing and supporting illegal armed groups that continue to terrorize local population and kill innocent civilians and Ukrainian soldiers.”

Ukraine’s UN ambassador, Yury Sergeyev today (17 July) said “the security situation in eastern Ukraine –under direct Russian coordination and connivance- continues to deteriorate.”
Speaking to reporters in United Nations (UN) Headquarters, the Ukrainian diplomat said that “despite recent significant success of Ukrainian armed forces”, the “terrorist gangs” changed their tactics.
He stressed “they became crueller, more cynical and more destructive,” adding that they devastated towns and villages and completely destroyed infrastructure, and also robbed banks and ATMs, looted stores and supermarkets.
Sergeyev showed journalists slides with several pictures of what he “called proofs and facts of Moscow’s participation in the destabilization of the situation in Ukraine.”
He said “our presentation is dedicated to Russia’s direct engagement into fuelling terrorism in Donbass region.”
He added “these facts are so obvious as they are so dangerous: dangerous for Ukrainian, regional and pan-European security.”
