“We were sitting in our home. Suddenly the neighbors called us saying that we have to leave our home because they are going to bomb the neighbor’s house. Within a moment we grabbed our children and dashed out. We hadn’t gotten far from the house when two rockets from a drone hit. Within four minutes four rockets had hit. Now my family is scattered. My wife stays in one house, I stay in another. It’s very, very difficult. And we don’t know what our children have done to end up in this situation.”

The United Nations (UN) relief and works agency (UNRWA) urgently seeks US$ 60 million to respond to the immediate shelter, food, health, and psycho-social needs of affected families in Gaza and to prepare for carrying out vital interventions that will be required immediately upon cessation of military activities.
As of today (17 Jul) more than 22,000 persons were sheltering in UNRWA schools across Gaza strip.
UNRWA provide the displaced with food, water, mattresses and hygiene kits.
It also provides health points, cleaning and quality control for drinking water at the shelters.
Earlier today, UNRWA reported that it had discovered 20 rockets hidden in its vacant school in Gaza day before. It called the use of a school to hide weapons a “flagrant violation” of international law protecting civilians. The agency said it was conducting a full investigation of the incident.
