Storyline

The United Nations (UN) mission in Mali (MINUSMA) paid tribute today (19 Sept) to a Chadian peacekeeper killed Sunday (14 Sep) when a UN vehicle struck a land mine in Aguel’hoc, northern Mali.

Meanwhile a new attack today in the same region killed five and wounded three Chadian soldiers in a roadside bomb.

Speaking at the ceremony, MINUSMA’s Chief Bert Koenders promised to insure the security of peacekeepers regardless cost.

To date, ten peacekeepers have been killed this month in Mali.
