Storyline

On Monday (29 Dec) the Head of the United Nations Mission for Emergency Ebola Response (UNMEER) traveled to Liberia where he met President Ellen Sirleaf Johnson in the Capital, Monrovia, as well as with Ebola survivors and community leaders in a distant border outpost.

Banbury is finalizing his term as Head of the mission at the end of the month.
He travelled to Sanniquellie, in Nimba County, next to the Guinean border. There he met partners working on the ground as well as local community leaders.

Fong G. Zuagele, Chairman of Nimba County Ebola Taskforce, expressed the need for educating the local population about the dangers of Ebola as well as to empower the communities.

He also met with local Ebola survivors, including 10-year-old Esther Topa.
