The United Nations Secretary-General paid today (17 Nov) his respect to the victims of last week’s Paris terror attacks and signed the book of condolences at the French Permanent Mission to the UN in New York.

Ban Ki-moon said Friday’s attacks were “barbaric acts of terrorism”.

"In these moments of sorrow and mourning, my thoughts are with the families and relatives of the victims. I admire President Hollande for his courage and leadership to combat acts of terrorism. We must be united in solidarity with the people and the government of France,” Ban said after signing the book.
