Storyline

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon visited a site hosting internally displaced persons (IDPs) in North Kivu, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

He met there with women in the IDP camp in Mungote, as well as displaced schoolchildren at the camp.

Before departing for capital, Kinshasa, Ban met with a group of former child soldiers participants in “Capoeira for peace” project.

On 24 February, Ban will be in Kinshasa, for the opening session of the Great Lakes Private Sector Investment Conference. He is also expected to meet with President Kabila, as well as several Government officials, and political and civil society representatives.
