Storyline

US Secretary of State John Kerry met today (19 Apr) with Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Javad Zarif to discuss the implementation of the nuclear deal as well as the conflict in Syria.

The nuclear deal was signed last year between Iran and P5+1 – USA, United Kingdom, France, Russian Federation, China and Germany. In exchange of phasing out the economic sanctions, Iran agreed to drastically reduce its nuclear stock pile.

The agreement was signed in July 2015 and came to effect in January this year.
