Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon signed a condolence book today (30 Jun) at the Turkish Mission in New York following the attack at the Istanbul airport which killed 43 and injured hundreds.

Ban said “there is no justification for any terrorism. Nothing can justify such kind of heinous terrorist attacks that must be defeated in the name of humanity.”

The Secretary-General expressed his appreciation to the Turkish Government for its very generous support for millions of refugees. He said that the UN stands firmly with the people and Government of Turkey in fighting terrorism and extremism.
