The second day of United Nations sponsored intra-Syrian negotiations began today (24 Feb) in Geneva.

The United Nations team led by Staffan De Mistura met with a Syrian Government delegation and is expected to meet separately with members of the opposition.

The negotiations between the Syrian government delegation and opposition delegation are expected to focus on political issues including transitional governance, a new constitution, and free and fair elections as noted in Security Council resolution 2254.
