At the onset of the eight round of Intra-Syrian dialogue, the United Nations Special Envoy Staffan De Mistura met with the representatives of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council.

Earlier, De Mistura called on all parties to come ready to negotiate without any preconditions and for all other initiatives to support the UN mediation process.

For the first time, in this round of talks, the Syrian government delegation and the opposition delegation will have a chance for direct talks.
