Man Builds, Man Destroys
The Day After Tomorrow
The Day After Tomorrow: Shortages of oil and natural gas, rising costs of power and world population growth have combined to stimulate an intensive search for alternate energy sources for the next century. This program deals with three of the most important -- solar energy, geothermal energy and thermos-nuclear fusion. Solar possibilities range from house heating to vast power farms and even satellite power stations. Geothermal resources are seen as a great boon to fossil fuel-poor nations such as El Salvador. And sophisticated fusion research is going on in fifty laboratories around the world including Princeton University’s Plasma Physics Lab, as part of the pursuit for energy sources for the future.
