Everyone Talks About It: Ever since man progressed from the notion that weather was an instrument of reward or punishment from his ancient gods, he has dreamed of one day controlling it. Progress in that direction may be slow, but there are signs that man is affecting weather inadvertently, and not necessarily in his best interests. Weather, like hunger and catastrophe, knows no boundaries. International coordination is therefore an absolute necessity to the study of weather patterns and their possible control. Weather may soon supplant pollution as the principal global environment concern. What we do or don’t do about the weather will affect the lives of all of us, as well as our children.
