Description

Through compelling images and moving personal stories, the viewer visits:

- Kazakhstan, where heavy nuclear and industrial pollution makes every breath seem like a game of Russian roulette. Here, local authorities and labour leaders are trying to find a middle ground between the risks posed by economic collapse and ecological catastrophe;

- Senegal, where deadly factory accidents are a grim reminder of the price paid by working people and the environment in the race towards industrial development;

- Venezuela, where indigenous peoples, helpless victims of the degradation of their own environment, become the new refugees of the war against nature and prey to savage exploitation.

While looking at these realities, The Broken Flight also portrays the efforts of men and women around the world to improve their living and working conditions and at the same time preserve their environment.
