Description

The purpose of the open briefing is to inform Member States about the updated version of the Technical Guide and promote the Guide as a practical reference tool.
CTED experts will present the Guide, focusing on major updates in the following areas:
(i) comprehensive and integrated counter-terrorism strategies; (ii) counter-financing of terrorism; iii) border security and arms trafficking; (iv) law enforcement; (v) general issues, including legislation, criminal justice and international cooperation; (vi) the mainstreaming of human rights aspects of counter-terrorism; (vii) prohibition of incitement to terrorism and countering violent extremism; (viii) information and communications technologies (ICT); and (ix) integration of gender dimension into peace and security efforts, including counter-terrorism.
