The world will need millions and millions of new jobs by the end of the century. TOIL AND TROUBLE explores core social and economic issues affecting all countries, taking the viewer from assembly lines in South Korea to breadlines in Finland, from a fire-eater in Mexico to a welder of satellite dishes in Cameroon.
This documentary focuses on the need for job creation, sustainable employment and other measures which must be taken to attack poverty and help those living on the fringes of society. It makes the argument for "putting people first", the theme of The World Summit for Social Development.
