Thailand is experiencing the stresses of rapid modernization. High school students like their counterparts throughout the developing world have a special responsibility in their country's future. With United Nations assistance, the government is promoting science and technology using local materials and do-it-yourself substitutes. Courses are designed to fit in with the actual environment in Thailand - an approach that holds lessons for many developing countries.
