During the struggle for independence, Indonesian puppets were used to convey information and to poke fun at the Europeans. Today, the Indonesian Government finds their powerful cultural influence can help spread many social messages, including family planning. Shadow Play uses the skills of Indonesian puppets to promote family planning in the Archipelago.
