Ambassador Ibrahim Gambari, Chairman of the United Nations Special Committee against Apartheid, assesses the ongoing situation of apartheid in South Africa. Despite significant moves towards change, he says, sanctions against the government must continue until apartheid is completely eradicated. Ambassador Gambari calls on the international community to resist the lifting of sanctions against the racist regime until there is a final, irreversible establishment of a non-racial and democratic South Africa.
