Storyline

The Head of the UN mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) Parfait Onanga-Anyanga, honoured the Bangladeshi contingent on Saturday (24 Mar) in a medal ceremony attended by the mission's force commander, General Balla Keita.

Speaking at the ceremony, Onanga-Anyanga said the peacekeepers have been always serving “beyond the call of duty and bearing in mind the need to protect civilian populations to save lives.”

Deployed in the Central African Republic since 24 September 2014, Bangladeshi peacekeepers have various roles within MINUSCA. They ensure the protection of civilians and also offer free medical consultations to the people while participating in the repairing of roads.
