Mathia Lubega, Chief, Division for Southern Africa of the United Nations Development Programme, UNDP, discusses the international assistance Namibia needs in the post-independence era. Learning from the mistakes of other African countries, Namibia adopted a pragmatic approach to win the support of the International community. Mr. Lubega notes that the most urgent assistance Namibia needs is in the fields of agriculture, rural development, health, education and housing.
