6. SOUNDBITE (French) Mahamat Saleh Annadif, Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Mali:
“As far as the peace agreement is concerned, I acknowledge that it is a complex process, but your Council must hold the signatory parties to account in order to ensure that the roadmap signed on 22 March does not become a mere piece of paper. It is time to move from promises and pledges to actual action and to show respect for the deadlines.”

8. SOUNDBITE (French) Mahamat Saleh Annadif, Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Mali:
“Your Council must call upon all Malian politicians to respect the timeline, but also encourage them to approach these election in a consensual spirit, peacefully, and make sure that they are credible. Otherwise this will add crisis upon crisis, heaping concern upon concern which will only serve as a fertile breeding ground for the enemies of peace. They will be the only winners should that take place.”
9. Med shot, delegates
10. SOUNDBITE (French) Tiéman Hubert Coulibaly Minister of Foreign Affairs and
of International Cooperation:
“I would like here before you all to state categorically that our government is determined to hold the elections by the dates established by our constitution and to do so in a transparent, inclusive, and credible way. We are also committed to ensure that elections take place across the entire country. The visit of the Prime Minister in the northern regions, which I mentioned earlier, was an opportunity to underscore the adhesion of the signatory movements to the electoral process.”
