Description

SMALL ISLAND STATES

When we think about small islands, we generally think about paradise on earth. These islands are among the world's most beautiful places. And yet, they are in real danger. Small islands are threatened by climate change, natural disasters and human poverty. Recently, the United Nations held a special session of its General Assembly to discuss the issues affecting small island states. In this episode of World Chronicle, Ambassador Tuiloma Neroni Slade, Chairman of the Alliance of Small Island States and Samoa's Representative to the United Nations, discusses some of the pressing problems affecting small island states around the world.
