Description

UNITED NATIONS FUND FOR INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS
The UN Foundation is a public charity responsible for channeling the $1 billion contribution made by CNN founder Ted Turner in support of UN causes. The Foundation was established in early 1998 to deliver the gift over a 10-year period. To provide coordination and monitoring of the contributions by the UN Foundation, the Secretary-General established the United Nations Fund for International Partnerships (UNFIP) as an autonomous trust fund. UNFIP is headed by an Executive Director and works under the leadership of the UN Deputy Secretary-General. In this edition of World Chronicle, Amir Dossal, Executive Director of the UN Fund for International Partnerships, discusses some of the projects funded by the UN Foundation.
