Tekle Tomlinson, Director of the World Food Programme's (WFP) Office in New York, discusses the food assistance to needy people in third world countries. He highlights the importance of storing emergency food supplies in locations near the areas often needing assistance. Mr. Tomlinson notes that WFP is involved in the preservation of arable land to increase food production in a number of developing countries.
