“My heart is beating so hard, I'm about to see my family. Finally,I'll see my mum again, my mum is my heaven. I’ve missed her so much, and in just a few minutes I'm going to see her.”

“I left my son when he was young, he had to leave home because of the war and the embargo. He was just a small boy but now I'm surprised he is bigger and taller than me.”

“We can now forget the past, we are starting a new page here, we will live together as family once more. Our lives will change. No more war, embargo. We want to start a new chapter of our lives. I want to raise my children and send them to school where they could be educated.”

18 years old Numeir, is getting his flat ready in Germany. Meanwhile, his family is packing in Greece. After three years apart, the family are about to be reunited.

Numeir left Syria when he was 15, as he was worried he would be conscripted into the army.
He now lives in Northern Germany with his cousins
SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Numeir, Syrian Refugee:
“I’m going to meet my family, it’s just two hours till I see them. Last night I couldn't sleep. I feel like it is the night before Eid, Before Eid I can't sleep and this is what happened to me last night.”
His parents and siblings have been living in Crete, Greece for the past two years.
But at any moment, they’ll be arriving here in Hamburg.

The family will now live in the town of Lensahn, where they will try and integrate into the local community.
