Hans Blix, Director General of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), speaks about the risks of nuclear proliferation, and highlights some successes in halting it. He states that the IAEA is not yet satisfied with all information received from Iraq, and indicates that the IAEA’s analysis of surplus nuclear waste in Democratic People’s Republic of Korea suggests undeclared plutonium. Also, he mentions that the IAEA’s inspection of the numbers of nuclear facilities in the DPRK is long overdue, and the DPRK refuses the IAEA’s inspection into its undeclared sites related to nuclear waste.
