The Security Council today failed to adopt a provisional agenda to hold a public meeting on the situation in Ukraine, following a procedural vote on the matter called by the Russian Federation. The tally of the voting was 5 in favour (China, Dominican Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Russian Federation and South Africa,) to 6 against (Belgium, France, Germany, Poland, United Kingdom and the United States), with 4 abstentions (Côte d’Ivoire, Indonesia, Kuwait and Peru).
