It will allow those displaced, who are afraid, who have had their homes burned, their shops vandalized, to find a place to sleep while waiting for the dialogue to find a solution. Currently, it is the rainy season, and the conditions in the camp are not good.”

A community initiative led displaced person to work alongside the UN peacekeeping mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) in the preparation of healthier IDP site in Birao.
Last September, armed conflict in the northeastern area left thousands of displaced people by a MINUSCA base and at the airport.

Displaced person expressed relief at the ability to move to a higher place and escape possible floods.

MINUSCA said the new site is better suited to meet the humanitarian needs of the displaced persons and to ensure their safety.
