Today, on 24 October, the world commemorated the anniversary of the entry into force of the United Nations Charter in 1945. In the Central African Republic, the ceremony took place at the MINUSCA Headquarters in the capital Bangui.
This anniversary was an opportunity for General Balla Keïta, the Force Commander of the MINUSCA, to underline the support given to the return to peace in the Central African Republic.
"The UN agencies present in the Central African Republic, as well as the MINUSCA, reaffirm their commitment to work with the Central African people for the consolidation of peace and the development of this brotherly country," said General Balla Keïta, MINUSCA’s Force Commander.
In a message read at the ceremony, the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres underscored the Organization's commitment to tackling the real issues that Central-Africans face.
