1. Various shots, officials at the ceremony
2. Wide shot, podium
3. SOUNDBITE (French), Faustin-Archange Touadéra, President of the Central African Republic:
"The current results are real and effective. But they must be strengthened and developed. This is why I also appeal to the guarantors and the facilitators. Indeed, a year after the signing of the Agreement, it is clear that the observation period has passed and that the time has come to take the steady path to ensure that the Agreement is truly respected."
4. Wide shot, applause
5. SOUNDBITE (French), Mankeur Ndiaye, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for the Central African Republic and Head of MINUSCA:
"I would like to reiterate that MINUSCA, alongside the guarantors, will continue to provide the necessary political, technical and logistical support, within the limits of its means, for the full implementation of the Peace Agreement. As we, the United Nations, the African Union and the Economic Community of Central African States have just recalled, in our joint press release dated February 5 - the Agreement remains the only viable path to lasting peace in the Central African Republic -. I would add that it is not to be renegotiated but rather to be carried out, and in good faith, in dialogue and concertation, in the Central African territory."
6. Wide shot, officials living the ceremony

Storyline

The first anniversary of the Political Agreement for Peace and Reconciliation (APPR) signed on February 6, 2019, in Bangui, by the government of the Central African Republic and 14 armed groups, was commemorated today at the presidency of the republic by the head of the State in the presence of the diplomatic corps and most of the rebel groups.

"The current results are real and effective. But they must be strengthened and developed. This is why I also appeal to the guarantors and the facilitators. Indeed, a year after the signing of the Agreement, it is clear that the observation period has passed and that the time has come to take the steady path to ensure that the Agreement is truly respected," declared the President of the Central African Republic, Faustin-Archange Touadéra.

The international community is providing strong support for this peace agreement.

I would add that it is not to be renegotiated but rather to be carried out, and in good faith, in dialogue and concertation, in the Central African territory ", underlined Mankeur Ndiaye, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in the Central African Republic and head of Minusca.

The implementation of the Agreement will be tested this year with the organization of general elections with the assistance of MINUSCA and all the partners of the Central African Republic.
