UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency and its partners, are supporting the Afghan government’s battle against the spread of the coronavirus in the country by focusing efforts on a public awareness campaigns, highlighting hygiene measures, and on distributing key sanitation tools like soap to stave off infection.
The public health campaign carried out by different UNHCR implementing partners include audio message broadcasted using loudspeakers mounted on moving vehicles.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Afghanistan has recorded 770 cases of COVID-19, including 25 deaths as of April 15.
