The draft resolution “Human Rights implications of the crisis in Myanmar”, tabled by the United Kingdom and the European Union, has been adopted on Friday by consensus by the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland. The resolution calls urgently for the immediate and unconditional release of all persons arbitrarily detained in Myanmar, including State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi and President Win Myint and others, and the lifting of the state of emergency.
