Description

Some fear their excessive influence on the national economies of both developing and developed countries, while others think that economic growth is impossible in today's world without these huge companies. This film takes an impartial look at the reasons behind this controversy. In Jamaica, Indonesia, Singapore and the United States it examines countries anxious to get the most out of their natural resources and corporations who expect legitimate returns and guarantees for the safety of their overseas investments. It indicates, in broad terms, the contribution that the United Nations could make to bring about a fairer deal for both sides.
