The Palestinian People Do Have Rights
Israel was created in 19h8 - and hundreds of thousands of Palestinians fled to other Arab lands. They have been there ever since. Others Joined them after each of the major wars or civil wars which devastated the area. Today there are close to 3,000,000 of them - a people in diaspora, a people in exile.
The film reviews the background of the Palestinian problem. Then through interviews with Palestinians from all walks of life, it attempts to give an idea of what it is to be without a country, without an identity. It concludes with a summary of the main events of United Nations consideration of the issue. At the end, an addendum explains more specifically the role of the UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People: what it does in the hope to bring about a solution to the problem.
