“The terrorist attack at Kabul airport yesterday was a horrendous move by ISIL-Khorasan. It was clearly calculated to kill and maim as many people as possible: civilians - children, women, fathers, mothers, as well as Taliban, and foreign forces protecting the airport.”

“It was an attack specifically designed to cause carnage, and it has caused carnage. This was a hideous assault on desperate civilians, and we hope those responsible are caught and brought to justice as soon as possible.”

A Spokesperson for the UN human rights office said that the attack near Kabul’s airport is “a hideous assault on desperate civilians, and we hope those responsible are caught and brought to justice as soon as possible.”
Speaking to reporters in Geneva today (27 Aug), Rupert Colville said, “the terrorist attack at Kabul airport yesterday was a horrendous move by ISIL-Khorasan. It was clearly calculated to kill and maim as many people as possible: civilians - children, women, fathers, mothers, as well as Taliban, and foreign forces protecting the airport.”
He also said “it was an attack specifically designed to cause carnage, and it has caused carnage.
According to media reports, there were two explosions near Kabul's airport on Thursday (26 Aug) killing dozens of people and wounding as many as 200.
