President Abdulla Shahid chaired the morning General Assembly plenary.

There were a number of elections that might be of interest to you.

Finland was elected by secret ballot to the Economic and Social Council.

The Dominican Republic and France were elected by acclamation to the Committee for Programme and Coordination.

Bulgaria and the Dominican Republic were elected to the Organizational Committee of the Peacebuilding Commission.

Experts from Costa Rica, Egypt, Kenya, St. Lucia and the United States were elected by secret ballot to the Permanent Forum of People of African Descent

In addition, Member States adopted a resolution making 2022 the International Year of Sustainable Mountain Development, sponsored by Kyrgyzstan.

This afternoon, the General Assembly will consider the reports of the Third Committee.

There are 63 resolutions, including the programme of work to be considered today.
