Vaccine Equity
Update on a social media campaign that is underway – the New Year’s Resolution for Vaccine Equity. President Abdulla Shahid is inviting everyone within and outside the United Nations – to join him and show commitment to the importance of vaccine equity. As he has repeatedly said, the only hope for a sustainable and swift recovery is to ensure equitable access to vaccines.

There has been great support for the campaign. As of today, more than 80 Member States have taken part. In addition, observers, heads of UN offices and departments, and entire offices such as the UN in Vienna, have participated.

Everyone is welcome to take part. There are media cards that you can personalize and share online. This campaign will continue at least until the vaccine event in February.

100 Days
All this week, the Office is marking 100 days of the Presidency of Hope. There is a newsletter out today specifically on that topic. It includes key moments related to protecting the planet, engaging with civil society and supporting human rights.
