Storyline

Deputy High Commissioner for Refugees Kelly T. Clements visited the Rohingya refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar and Bhasan Char in Bangladesh, calling for more education and access to livelihood opportunities.

As the Rohingya crisis approaches its fifth year Clements, called for continued international support for some one million Rohingya refugees living in Bangladesh.

She met with refugees to further understand challenges and future hopes and expectations.

During her mission she reiterated UNHCR’s commitment towards voluntary repatriation and other solutions, while underlining the need to build resilience and invest in refugees’ capacities in preparation for a future safe and voluntary return to Myanmar.
