“Now, donors need to keep stepping up. The United States recently reaffirmed our commitment to Ukraine through congressional approval of another four and a half billion dollars in grant assistance, which will begin to disperse in the coming weeks. And that's in addition to the eight and a half billion in grants already be dispersed. I would like to thank the World Bank for facilitating these disbursements. We welcome the efforts of all donors to meet Ukraine's needs.”

Addressing the Second Ministerial Roundtable Discussion for Support to Ukraine at World Bank headquarters, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy today (12 Oct) called for global coordination for financial support of Ukraine.
President Zelenskyy said that donor support is urgently needed to rebuild energy infrastructure and to stimulate the Ukrainian economy.
Speaking at the same event, U.S. Secretary Yellen said that donors need to continue stepping up and said that a historic sanctions coalition is restricting Russia’s access to the technology and equipment it needs to supply its military.
And World Bank President David Malpass expressed horror at Russia’s actions and took note of all of the contributions from global donors to support Ukraine’s reconstruction.
The Ministerial Roundtable was co-chaired by the Government of Ukraine, the World Bank Group, and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to discuss Ukraine’s financing needs, priorities for sustaining essential services during wartime, as well as priority recovery and reconstruction projects that can be quickly initiated.
