Description

President Csaba Kőrösi strongly condemns the Taliban’s decision to ban Afghan women from working with the UN in the country.

Here in New York, this hour, President Kőrösi is meeting with the Advisory Board on Gender Equality.

Today’s meeting includes about a dozen Ambassadors, as well as the Executive Director of UN-Women, Sima Sami Bahous.

Coincidentally today is the International Day of Conscience, which calls for the creation of conditions of stability and well-being and peaceful and friendly relations based on respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms for all without distinction as to race, sex, language or religion.

President Kőrösi had his monthly coordination meeting with Secretary-General António Guterres. They discussed the outcomes and next steps of the UN Water Conference.

Earlier this morning, President Kőrösi followed the discussion on the Dialogue for Future Generations in the Trusteeship Council Chamber

President Kőrösi spoke by phone this morning with the WHO Representative in Hungary, Mr. Haris Hajrulahovic, in connection with a Ministerial Conference on Environment and Health in May, and other issues.
