Storyline

The head of UN peacekeeping, Jean-Pierre Lacroix, met Thursday (21 Dec) the Central African Minister of the Interior Michel Nicaise Nassin during his three-day mission in the Country.

During his visit to Birao, Lacroix praised the good collaboration between MINUSCA and Humanitarian actors in caring for refugees in the Vakaga region. He was accompanied by the Minister of the Interior, Michel N. Nassin, the Head of MINUSCA, Valentine Rugwabiza, and representative of humanitarian agencies.

The field visit was marked by meetings with representatives of the communities, civil society, women, young people and socio-professional groups. During these meetings, Jean Pierre Lacroix praised the spirit of solidarity shown by the people of Birao in welcoming and integrating the refugees.

Speaking in Birao, Central Africa’s Minister of the Interior Michel Nicaise Nassin said, "I urge you to work and live together with the defense and security forces, including those of MINUSCA stationed here in Birao, to be able to work as a team.”
