Review of the Skeleton report and closing remarks
The Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations met to consider a skeleton report of its 2024 regular session — held from 22 January to 31 January, and on 9 February — and to review the remaining previously deferred applications for special consultative status.
The Committee is chaired by Zebib Gebrekidan (Eritrea), Chair of the Committee.
The 2024 regular session is expected to consider 214 new applications for status by NGOs as well as 294 applications deferred from earlier sessions. The Committee will also review new quadrennial reports of 755 NGOs in general or special consultative status, as well as 115 quadrennial reports from organizations, deferred from earlier sessions. The session's recommendations will be sent to the Economic and Social Council for its approval during the meetings of the management segment of the Council to be held from 5 to 6 June 2024.
