Ahead of today’s (29 Feb) Security Council consultations on Middle East, Nicolas de Rivière, French Permanent Representative, said, “The humanity and situation for civilian population in Gaza is worsening by the day. We are confronted now with an unprecedented disaster.”

He explained, “Following this morning event in southwest Gaza and the death of more than 100 civilians while they were awaiting food aid, Algeria called for a Security Council consultation this afternoon.
