With that we also came to deliver very critical medical items. Fixators, anesthesia medications and some antibiotics. We also came to deliver vaccines and supplies for severely acute malnutrition in children.”

“We still need too many things for us to work the right way again at Al-Shifa Medical Complex. We also need more delegations to come and visit us to see the extent of suffering at Al-Shifa, and that’s due to the huge number of injuries we receive that we can hardly deal with due to the lack of medical resources, medial staff, and capabilities. For example, we operate the radiology department two days a week instead of the entire week, the same for the Kidney Dialysis department: it’s only operating two days a week instead of it working daily. The medical staff can’t reach the hospital every day of course because there is no transportation or the fact that they are busy with their families. We are suffering from these matters on daily basis.”

Storyline

The World Health Organization (WHO) and partners managed to access Al-Shifa hospital in northern Gaza to deliver 19,000 liters of fuel; lifesaving medical supplies for 150 patients; and treatments for 50 children suffering from severe acute malnutrition.

Over 240 patients are being served by many volunteer health workers.

Services are very limited due to a lack of medical supplies, fuel, water, and food.
