“I'm living before the war in Nuseirat Camp. I'm now in the, now in the Al-Istiqlal Camp in Deir Al-Balah. I'm feeling this camp is a bad feeling. This is not my life. This is not Gaza life. We are here in a bad situation. We do something we don't do before the war. Now I hope to God to get me back to my home. And don't be continue this war and stop it.”

“I am coming here from Jabalia camp, from the north. And I am coming here to this Al-Istiqlal Camp. I want to convey my message of all the bad of the occupation. I feel bad. Well, I want to talk to you about our city, Gaza. They are killed thousands of children, and orphaned thousands of them also. There are killed the men and make the women widows. So where is our right to live and be sensible? Where is the freedom. We are children and we live scared from the occupation. We wanted all my rights.”

“I have been displaced several times to our current camp, Al-Istiqlal Camp. I've suffered a lot with displacement. All the way to this camp, which shelters us and a number of displaced people. I very much hope that this war that have killed many displaced people and many people will end.”

At the Al-Istiqlal camp for displaced persons in central Deir al-Balah, the Director of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in the Palestinian Territories, Ajith Sunghay, on Wednesday (17 July) visited one of the classrooms set up in tents for Palestinian children and informed them about their rights under international humanitarian law.
The children conveyed testimonial messages through the United Nations News camera to the world, explaining their need to stop the war and return to their homes.

Sunghay engaged in a discussion with the children, who asked him questions about their rights under these circumstances. He informed the children about the role of the United Nations and its various organizations in the Gaza Strip and their responsibilities towards Palestinians living in difficult conditions during the war.
