Description

This Press Briefing by the Spokesperson for the President of the General Assembly (PGA) is dedicated to a conversation by the PGA and two students with members of the press. 

The President of the General Assembly, Mr. Dennis Francis, spoke this morning at an unannounced appearance during the daily press briefing to introduce two students from the New York public school system, Mr. Erik Ponomarev and Miss Fariha Akter from Fort Hamilton High School and the Bronx Center for Science and Mathematics, respectively. 

Ms. Akter and Mr. Ponomarev are taking part in the exercise "PGA for a Day" that aims to be a transformative and enriching experience for both students. 

Under President Francis's mentorship, they are taking part in meetings, interacting with UN officials, and gaining valuable insights into the responsibilities of global leadership and the challenges of diplomacy.
