On 24 August 2024, rescue teams started recovering the bodies of a Palestinian family, including children, who had been trapped under the rubble of their bombed house in Hamad city, Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip. Attempts to secure the teams' access to the area lasted three days, during which injured survivors died of their wounds.
