Addressing the Summit of the Future Plenary today (23 Sep) in New York, the Adviser for the Bangladeshi Interim Government Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Touhid Hossain, said, “While wealth abounds to finance almost all the global needs, even though developing countries are ready to pay for the solutions, we see very little money moves to critical developmental issues such as climate adaptation, securing future of water for farmers, etc.”

Hossain also emphasized the need to blend education with creativity as well as to “democratize digital technology tools, applications and innovations beyond profit.”

World leaders adopted a Pact for the Future on Sunday (22 Sep) that includes a Global Digital Compact and a Declaration on Future Generations. The Pact covers a broad range of themes including peace and security, sustainable development, climate change, digital cooperation, human rights, gender, youth and future generations, and the transformation of global governance.
